The Lancer women’s hockey team’s season came to an end Saturday after a 2-1 overtime loss to the Toronto Varsity Blues.

With Toronto’s victory, Windsor lost the best of three quarter-final series to the Blues in two straight games.

After a scoreless first period, Toronto got on the board in the final minutes of the second. Toronto led 1-0 after 40 minutes.

Fifth year forward Candace Kourounis evened the score midway through the third when she tapped in a rebound off an Erinn Noseworthy rebound and the two teams headed to overtime.

In the extra frame, Taylor Day scored four minutes into overtime putting the puck in the five-hole of Lancer goaltender Marissa Kozovski to earn the win for the Blues.
