Two people were seriously injured after they were hit by a car in Walkerville on Saturday night.

Police, firefighters and EMS were called to the intersection of Wyandotte and Chilver around 7:45pm. Police say a male and a female were walking across Wyandotte Street East when they were struck by a westbound red Chrysler Neon. The male was transported to hospital with serious injuries and remains in critical condition. The female suffered minor injuries.

Windsor Police accident reconstruction officers were called to the scene and Wyandotte was closed for several hours.
