Club member Anna Jurak makes her 150th donation during last year’s Blood Donor Challenge

The Rotary Club of Windsor-St. Clair is once again challenging others around the region to donate blood, particularly in this time of critical blood shortages.

“The Rotary motto of ‘service above self’ truly applies here,” said Anna Jurak, the Rotarian who issued the challenge. “Blood donations save lives.”

Jurak has donated over 155 times, and last year, invited friends, family, fellow Rotarians and the public to join her in helping to save lives.

The challenge will extend through February, with a special ‘Rotary Day’ being hosted on February 14th, whereby donors will enjoy food and punch following their donation.

Friends and family of Rotarians are eligible to be counted as well.  All you have to do is book your appointment to donate and upon arriving, sign up for the Rotarian challenge at the door.

The Windsor Blood Donor Clinic is located at 3909 Grand Marais Road East.  You can call 1-888-2 DONATE or www.blood.ca to book an appointment.
