Windsor Police continue to investigate a stabbing that happened early Sunday morning.

Police say that around 2am an unknown male approached a 55-year-old woman and tried to engage her in conversation. The woman asked to be left alone and the male proceeded to punch her in the face.

The woman left the area and realized that she was bleeding from her back. She was transported to hospital from the 500 block of Bruce Avenue by ambulance.

The woman required surgery as a result of her injuries.

The suspect is described as a black male, slim build, possibly 5’6″ – 5’7″ 180 lbs, with a moustache. He was wearing a brown jacket and blue jeans.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call police at 519-255-6700 ext. 4305 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 519-258-TIPS (8477)
