Just after 5:30pm Thursday Windsor Police were called to the 300 block of Elliott Street West for a report of a man with a machete.

A witness told police that the suspect had approached him, and demanded a cigarette.  As he was refusing to give him one, the witness noticed that the suspect was carrying a machete.  He then backed off, and called police.

Police located a 39-year-old Windsor man, who was still holding the machete.  Police say that he refused initial commands to drop the weapon, but finally did comply and was arrested at gunpoint.
