Windsor Family Credit Union has donated $15,000 to local charities in advance of Christmas.

Under their Joy of Giving program, approximately $15,000 was donated in non-perishable food items, clothing, gift cards and cash donations to groups and programs like the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, the Unemployed Help Centre’s Coats for Kids program, the Downtown Mission, the Salvation Army, the Windsor Goodfellows, Leamington Area Food Banks, the Amherstburg Food Bank, the Adopt-a-Family Programs with Drouillard Place and Children’s Aid Society, and the Leamington Toys for Tots Program.

“We are extremely proud to share the spirit of giving with our community”, said WFCU CEO Marty Komsa. “Especially during the holidays, it is important that we support and help those individuals who are struggling and need help to get through this holiday season.”

Within the first 7 days of December, each of the company’s employees were given $50 to to donate.

Staff also donated clothes for clothing drives, toys for toy drives, food for food banks, coffee cards for volunteers, bus tickets for students, and more.
