Windsor Police arrested a man after he allegedly stole an entire shopping cart’s worth of merchandise from Toys “R” Us.

Police were called Wednesday afternoon about a suspect who they say left the store with a cart full of toys, put them in his vehicle and left.

Officers spoke to a worker who said that she was approached by a customer who told her that a man was stealing a shopping cart full of merchandise.

The customer advised officers that she saw the a man acting suspiciously at the entrance doors with a cart full of merchandise. She was so suspicious that she took a picture of the suspect on her cell phone.

Officers recognized the male and later located him at a downtown hotel as he left a room.

The merchandise was recovered and returned to the store.

The employee also provided officers with video surveillance footage that showed the entire theft and the suspect leaving the store without making any attempt to pay for the merchandise.

Cary Carriere, 44, is charged with Theft Under $5000.
