It is now even easier to talk to City Hall thanks to a new 311 pilot project.
With the introduction of texting service, Windsor becomes the first municipal call centre in Canada to utilize the short code “311.”
Windsorites can now simply text to the numbers 311 to have access to city service info or to report concerns related to a vast array of municipal services and issues, from potholes to traffic lights and more.
“We’re excited to see how the community will respond to this convenient new option,” said Acting Manager of the 311/211 Call Centre Alena Sleziak. “With an ever-increasing reliance on mobile phones, we anticipate this pilot service will be very popular among our residents.”
Hours of operation for the texting service are Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm, holidays excluded. Standard data rates apply to all users.
Residents can still contact 311 by phone, email or online as well.
