A Windsor entrepreneur was recognized at an event that celebrates women-owned businesses in Canada.

Kay Douglas of Douglas Marketing Group was awarded the Women Business Enterprises Canada’s “Perfect Pitch” award at a national conference in Toronto recently.

Douglas presented a 60-second business pitch to “key corporate representatives” from Fortune 500 companies and was selected in her round table group and out of 35 finalists, according to the company.

The one-day event brought together Canada’s top women entrepreneurs and corporate leaders along with procurement and supplier diversity managers from major Fortune 500 corporations across North America.

Douglas Marketing Group was co-founded by Douglas in 1991 to create quality and effective marketing campaigns for clients, some of whom include Meloche Windows, the Windsor Essex County Cancer Centre Foundation, Thomas Canning’s Utopia brand, Viewpointe Estate Winery and local job firm LUCASWorks!.
