Windsor Police are investigating a robbery that took place downtown.

Around 8am Sunday, a Windsor Police officer on routine patrol in the 1000 block of Wyandotte Street East observed a female sitting on the sidewalk who was visibly upset. The female had minor cuts and scratching to her hand so the officer asked if she needed assistance. She told the officer that she was robbed, provided some details, but was uncooperative with the investigation.

A short time later Windsor Police Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 500 block of Louis Avenue for a report of violence.

Police say they had information that a female was being assaulted by a male.

Upon arrival, officers learned that a female was assaulted by a group of people who were looking for retribution for the victim of the robbery, according to police.

Police say a fight ensued and the suspect was assaulted by the group who were then seen leaving in a silver vehicle. While speaking to the female other officers located the vehicle and arrested two people.

A 58-year-old male and a 41-year-old male of Windsor were charged with assault and released on a promise to appear. A 30-year-old female was charged with robbery. The victim was later transported to hospital with swelling and bruising to her face.
