A freezing rain warning in effect for Windsor and Essex County as well as Chatham-Kent.

A warm front crossing southern Ontario today will open the door to a milder damp period for the region. But until the milder air arrives, some freezing rain is projected to affect many regions, especially this morning.

It will begin early this morning in the Windsor to Sarnia corridor and work its way northeastwards encompassing areas to the east of Lake Huron later this morning. It appears most areas will receive a couple of hours of freezing rain before a changeover to some patchy rain as temperatures nudge above the freezing mark. Ground temperatures below freezing may also result in icy and slippery surfaces continuing through the morning hours.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.
