The Essex Region Conservation Authority says that there is a potential for shallow levels of flooding and areas of standing water to be present throughout the region.

They say that based on weather forecasts being widely variable, calling for temperatures to be above freezing, together with predicted rainfall which together with snow melt and existing wet ground conditions could result in levels of measurable runoff.

Standing water may be observed at locations throughout the region. Standing water depths may be very deep and are potentially extremely hazardous.
Property owners should ensure that people, pets and livestock are kept away from areas of standing water.

In addition due to the early snowfall covering fallen leaves, they say that you should inspect areas of your private properties for catch basin locations and other surface water inlets and make these areas free of leafy or woody debris.

This advisory is in effect until 9am Monday.
