One of the area’s first Christmas events of the season takes place this weekend.

This Friday and Saturday is the annual Holiday Walk in the heart of historic Walkerville, where businesses offer discounts, treats and a variety of special events.

In addition, this year’s celebration will also celebrate the official re-opening of the street after streetscape improvements construction. A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place in Jubilee Park on the corner of Kildare and Wyandotte Friday starting at 7pm. Following that will be a lighting of the park and tree decorating.

You will be able to meet Santa at Ten Thousand Villages, enjoy caroling and take a horse & carriage ride through beautiful Walkerville.

The Holiday Walk runs Friday until 9pm and on Saturday from 10am to 6pm.
