Faculty at the University of Windsor are set to approve or reject a new three year contract when voting begins this afternoon.
Professors, librarians and other faculty members narrowly avoided a strike when both sides reached a tentative agreement just minutes after midnight on October 3rd.
The tentative agreement came after two days of negotiation assisted by provincially appointed mediators.
Details of the agreement between the University and the Windsor University Faculty Association, or WUFA, have not been made public.
WUFA rejected an earlier offer from the University because “it contains costly concessions and a wage increase that is below what other faculty associations are settling for.”
Voting gets underway after a 4:30pm ratification meeting on Tuesday.
