Two people are facing charges related to attempted murder following Sunday morning’s shooting at The Boom Boom Room in downtown Windsor.

Kevin Nyandu, 20, was charged with attempted murder, careless use of a firearm, and unlawful possession of marijuana, and 24-year-old Shadrack Amankwa, was charged with accessory to attempted murder, possession of a firearm while prohibited and careless storage of a firearm.

Police say the 20 year old victim was working at the bar at the time of the incident.

He underwent surgery and is listed in serious, but stable condition. Police say he remains in the intensive care unit.

On Sunday, lawyer for The Boom Boom Room Adam Paglione confirmed the victim was an employee of the club and praised police and EMS for their efforts.

“We would like to commend Windsor Police and Windsor EMS for their unbelievably rapid response,” he said. “We are co-operating with police and providing any assistance we can.”

“At this moment our thoughts and prayers are with the quick recovery of our teammate, our friend, and his family.”

Police said anyone with information is asked to contact the WPS Major Crimes Unit at 519-255-6700 ext. 4830, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 519-258-8477 (TIPS), online at www.catchcrooks.com.
