Windsor Police have arrested a man after a break and enter on Hickory Road.

Police were called around 2:15pm on Monday to the 1100 block after receiving a call that a man was yelling for help.

Officers arrived and discovered two men holding a man down on the ground. The man on the ground was attempting to break free. One of the men indicated that he had just caught the man inside his residence. Officers placed the suspect under arrest for break and enter.

Police say the victim was sleeping on the couch in his living room. He woke up to the sound of footsteps coming from the kitchen. He saw the suspect inside his kitchen and ran towards him. The victim grabbed the suspect and the two males became engaged in a physical altercation. During the struggle, a door window was broken. The suspect took a piece of the broken glass and swung it in the direction of the victim. The victim received a cut on his hand from the glass. The victim forced the suspect outside and wrestled him to the ground and began to yell for help. A neighbour came to his aid and assisted in holding the suspect on the ground until police arrived.

Michael Crawford, 42, is charged with Break and Enter and Assault With a Weapon.
