A Lakeshore man is facing driving charges after an incident earlier this week that police say an officer was witness to.

OPP say an officer on patrol in Tecumseh was stopped in traffic northbound awaiting a red light on Banwell Road when he observed a vehicle in his rear view mirror pull out and proceed into oncoming traffic in an attempt to get into the left hand turn lane.

Two vehicles that were heading in the opposite direction were forced onto the shoulder to avoid a head on collision with the suspect vehicle, according to police.

Police charged Brian Lafreniere, 25, with Careless Driving, Fail to Surrender Insurance Card, Insecure Load, No Mudguards, Drive Motor Vehicle, No Currently Validated Permit.
