After months of construction noise and dust, Walkerville celebrated a repaved Wyandotte Street, extended sidewalks and new flower planters with a “first feet on the street” block party, Friday evening.

The Walkerville Night Market returned for an encore celebration at the parking lots of The Willistead Restaurant and the Gourmet Emporium and hundreds of people visited businesses.

Work to reopen Wyandotte Street to traffic is still ongoing and a stretch of road between Lincoln and Gladstone has not yet been completed.

Wyandotte is expected to be open by the end of the month.
