A Belle River man won $50,000 playing a scratch ticket recently.
James Backman of Belle River revealed “loyal,” “pool,” “easy,” “tendon” and other words to capture the top prize on the OLG’s Instant Crossword.
“I purchased three tickets at the store,” Backman told officials at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto. “I scratched the tickets in the car and when I realized I was a winner, I was in shock! I counted all the words.”
Backman plans to replace his broken car, invest in RRSPs and share some of his winnings with his sister.
The winning ticket was purchased at Mac’s on Tecumseh Road in Windsor.
