Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued For Windsor & Essex County

Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Windsor and Essex County as of 6:48pm.
They say conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts and heavy rain.
Thunderstorms extending from east of Saginaw, Michigan to near Fort Wayne, Indiana are racing towards Southwestern Ontario. They may cross over the international border beginning near 7.30pm, according to Environment Canada.
Torrential downpours giving 25 to 50 mm in an hour or less, and wind gusts of 90 km/h appear to be the main threats. Some of these thunderstorms also contain frequent lightning, according to meteorologists.
