Windsor Police Sergeant Matthew D’Asti took the Ice Bucket Challenge this afternoon and things got a little chilly.

D’Asti, who is WPS’ media relations officer, was challenged by the London Police Department to dump ice on his head.

Why ice? And why dump anything at all?

The Ice Bucket Challenge was created in the US as a fundraiser for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Participants are expected to make a donation to the ALS Association.

D’Asti said he was happy for the opportunity to help share the message and efforts to find a cure for ALS.

Those who complete the challenge are able to challenge three others. D’Asti picked three lucky members of the media in Windsor.
