When the kids heard back to school in a week’s time, a new era of education starts in the west end as Westview Freedom Academy opens its doors.
The new school is made up of both J.L. Forster and Century Secondary.
A new sign outside the school is just one of many changes and construction projects that have been under way at the California Avenue building.
An estimated $2,494,398 in renovations have been undertaken to accommodate program needs for the two blended schools, as well as work to upgrade the cafeteria, library and the gym.
Upgrades have also be made to the school’s fire alarm system.
The first day of school is Tuesday September 2nd.
