This Friday afternoon, head down to Dieppe Gardens and cheer on Team Canada at the 2014 edition of the annual Tug Across The River.
Team Canada will take on Team USA who is staged on the other side of the river at Detroit’s Hart Plaza. Each team will pull in a length of rope from the middle of the river, and the team who does it the fastest wins.
Team Detroit is leading against Team Windsor after twenty-seven years of the event: the Americans have won 14 times and the Canadians have won 13 times.
Despite being an annual event, Tug Across The River was not held in 2013, and organizers from Blues Fest did not return multiple requests for comment at that time.
The tug takes place at 5:45pm.
