The new jail, also known as the South West Detention Centre will be open for public tours this weekend.

The tours will take place both Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 4pm, and will last about 35 minutes.

The new building is located on the 8th Concession. Due to limited on-site parking, complimentary shuttles will leave every 15 minutes from the Devonshire Mall.

The tour may not be suitable for young children, and parents and guardians may wish to exercise caution as there are some areas that deal with sensitive matters.

No cellular phones, cameras, or backpacks will be allowed in the facility. Cameras and cellphones will be confiscated, catalogued and held for pick-up at the end of the tour.

All persons entering the facility will be subject to a security screening.
