Police have arrested a suspect they believe is responsible for several break ins to cars in South Windsor.

On Tuesday around 4am, police were alerted to a suspect stealing from vehicles in the 3000 block of Bruce Avenue.

The suspect was described as being 5’8″ and wearing plaid pajama pants.

Officers were told he was observed in the area with a flashlight stealing from vehicles.

Police went to the area and observed the suspect peering into a residence window in the 3100 block of Bruce Avenue. The suspect saw police approaching and ran Eastbound from the 3100 block of Bruce Avenue.

Police gave chase but lost sight of him.

Officers continued to search the neighbourhood for the suspect. At approximately 4:25am they observed him riding on a bicycle Northbound in the 2700 block of Virginia Park. When the suspect saw police, he began to pedal faster. Police pulled next to the suspect in their police vehicle. The suspect dumped his bicycle and began to run. He attempted to climb over a fence when police caught up with him.

As officers attempted to arrest him, police say he began kicking at them in an attempt to free himself.

Officers used a Taser and arrested the man.

Police discovered stolen items from several vehicles in the area in his possession.

Dakota Poisson, 22, is charged with Possession of Stolen Property, Prowling at Night, and Resisting Arrest.
