Three ambulances arrive at a car accident in 2012.

Windsor-Essex EMS welcomed eleven new paramedics at a ceremony Friday.

The process for them to get this far was quite extensive. In November 2013, Essex-Windsor EMS posted for Part Time Primary Care Paramedics and received over 140 applications. In January 2014, 79 successful applicants were invited for a written component.

From the written, 47 applicants were chosen to complete a comprehensive paramedic practical and driving evaluation. This resulted in the final candidates being selected for an interview and physical fitness evaluation.

From there the eleven were chosen. They are Brandon Bellehumeur, David Bondy, Cathie Driedger, Nicolas Guerrette, Patrick Lee, Abby Mohamed, Joseph Mollica, Cristina Pastorius, Kaitlynne Rawlings, Bryan Traubert and Alicia Wilson.
