The City of Windsor continues to push forward with removing abandoned homes, otherwise known as ‘blight’, from city streets.

The latest house on their list is 2363 Cadillac in Windsor’s east end.

Since 2009 the city says they have visited the home 10 times in response to the condition of the property and building. The city says the building department became involved with the property in 2009 as a result of a fire at the home.

The building was declared “derelict” after the area ward inspector undertook a building condition assessment in October 2013.

The city intends to demolish the home and add the cost to the property owner’s taxes.
