Caesars Windsor’s winning hors d’oeuvre from 2011

The Big Brothers Big Sisters of Windsor Essex Foundation is gearing up for the 28th Annual Battle of the Hors D’oeuvres. This year’s event will feature 21 local food & beverage establishments, and will be held at Caesars Windsor in the Augustus Ballroom on May 22nd.

Two years ago, the Battle of the Hors D’oeuvres underwent a transformation, and is no longer a sit down gala, rather it has become an after business, interactive, networking event.

Organizers say that this “non-gala” format encourages guests to come as they are after work, lounge, network, and enjoy great food, beverages and atmosphere. The event will host food and beverage stations for guests to taste and visit as they meet and mingle around the room. Guests will also be able to bid on silent auction items, entering the raffle, and enjoy live music.

In addition, guests will have a chance to be a food critic and vote for their favourites to win the “People’s Choice Award”. There will also be a panel of expert judges to choose the “Critic’s Choice Award” winners.

Restaurants this year include Armando’s, Bull n’ Barrel, Chanoso’s, The City Grill, Neros Steakhouse, Rino’s Kitchen, Taza Mediterranean Grill and Thai Palace.
