A 31-year-old Windsor man face several charges after his transport truck struck a tow truck on Highway 401 near Chatham.

Police say the freight liner tractor-trailer was travelling westbound just after 5:30pm Thursday near Charing Cross Road when it struck a white Ford tow truck which was stopped on the north shoulder of the highway.

The driver was assisting in the removal of abandoned vehicles as a result of the recent snow storm, and the tow truck was unoccupied.
