The Ontario Provincial Police and Windsor Police have taken down an alleged illegal drug trafficking, bookmaking and gambling operation following a lengthy investigation.

The operation, called Project Helensburgh, took on an organized crime group in the Windsor area that was suspected of conducting illegal online gambling, bookmaking, and drug distribution.

On March 6th police executed nine search warrants at five residences and four vehicles in the Windsor, Amherstburg and London.

Police seized one kilogram of cocaine worth approximately, 16 kilograms of marihuana worth approximately $77,500, one handgun and brass knuckles, $6,000 in cash, $45,000 worth of jewellery, and two vehicles.

Eleven people between the ages of 21 and 43 were arrested and charged.

Sang Nguyen, Anthony Amante, Adam Wray, Brooke Doyle, Frank Molle, Kevin Lauzon, Marc Mireault, Matthew Athanasopoulos, Tyler Peter Wasileff, Kyle Greening and Adam Zarod have all been arrested and charged with various offences.
