A photo of a backyard ice rink in LaSalle has made the front page of popular social news and entertainment website reddit.

The rink, in the Heritage Estates area of LaSalle, was built for a seven year old who loves hockey, cost around $700-800 and required “lots of hours and tons of beer” according to the owner on reddit.

The rink features ads that helped to identify that it was near Windsor-Essex, including 519 phone numbers and many references to Windsor and LaSalle including Windsor Spitfires logos, an ad for Dan Kane Chevrolet, and of course, Red Wings emblems.

A user described as a neighbour to the rink posted the photo to reddit on Tuesday and the post was quickly upvoted to reddit’s front page after being described as incredibly Canadian by commenters from around the world.
