Windsor Police have released surveillance footage of a man smashing an SUV into a shop window in order to steal a TV.

Police were called to Aaron’s Rentals in the 2200 block of Tecumseh Road West on Saturday January 25th around 4:15am after receiving a report of a commercial alarm going off.

Officers arrived at the scene and discovered that the front door was forced open. They also observed fresh tire tracks leading to the door.

Police viewed a surveillance video that shows a dark coloured SUV being used to smash open the front doors.

In the video, the man rams his vehicle into the business’ front door twice, gets out, heads into the business, steals a 60″ TV and then speeds off. Police are seen arriving less than a minute after the suspect leaves and with a K-9 in just over two minutes after the door was smashed.

This is the second TV theft caught on camera in the past few weeks. Yesterday, police released information about a break and enter at Cash Convertors where a man was seen stealing two TVs.

Police say the two incidents might be related.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 519-255-6700 ext. 4350 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 519-258-8477 (TIPS).
