Updated: Thursday February 20th, 5:45pm.

Police in Halifax, Nova Scotia, have been searching for a missing woman and now her car has turned up in Essex County.

Loretta Saunders, 26, was reported missing to police by her family on February 17th. She was last seen in the Cowie Hill Road area in Halifax in the morning of February 13th.

Essex County OPP located Loretta’s car, a Toyota Celica bearing Newfoudland and Labrador plate HCP 543 in Harrow Tuesday night.

25-year-old Blake Leggette and 28-year-old Victoria Henneberry were arrested Wednesday without incident.  They appeared in court  on outstanding warrants and to face charges of possession of stolen goods and fraud-related charges.

Investigators are now treating Loretta’s disappearance as suspicious.

Earlier Thursday, investigators in Halifax obtained arrest warrants for both of the accused in relation to the stolen vehicle. Investigators will travel to Ontario in the coming days to return the accused to Nova Scotia to answer to these charges.

Loretta is described as an Inuk woman, 5’7”, 120 lbs. with light brown straight hair.

Anyone with information about this missing person case is asked to contact police Crime Stoppers by calling toll-free 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or submitting a secure web tip at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca.
