Police have arrested a man after he was allegedly pulled over in a stolen vehicle with break and enter tools.

Around 4:45am Wednesday, officers on patrol stopped a 1994 Dodge Caravan on Riverside Drive West at Caron Avenue.

Officers approaching the driver observed that the drivers door glass on the vehicle was smashed and that the ignition had been tampered with.

The driver was ordered to exit the vehicle and was arrested without incident for possession of stolen property. A pry bar and a rock were discovered inside the vehicle.

Police say the owner of the vehicle hadn’t realized that his van was stolen from his driveway.

Evidence of broken auto glass and footprints in snow were discovered in the owner’s driveway.

James Westlake, 30, is charged with Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Possession of Stolen Property, and Possession of a Break in Instrument.
