Windsor Police, along with Campus Community Police at the University of Windsor, are investigating after what they describe as a hate crime took place overnight on campus.

Around 9am this morning, police were called to the CAW Student Center and found that an office was broken into sometime overnight and the suspect spray painted a message inside the office.

Police say the message was racist in nature.

The University of Windsor Student’s Alliance said in a statement posted to their facebook page that the crime took place in the office of VP of Academic Affairs Jacob Dejong.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Windsor Police at 519-255-6700 ext. 4305 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 519-258-8477 (TIPS).
