Windsor Fire and Rescue Services has teamed up with TVOKids and the Office of the Fire Marshal to raise awareness about testing smoke alarms.

“Working smoke alarms do save lives, so go ahead and ‘Push the Button’ on all of your smoke alarms before Daylight Savings Time begins on Sunday, March 9th,” says Fire Chief Bruce Montone. “Remember to change the battery on any alarms that don’t sound or if the battery has not been changed in the last year.”

Parents are asked to give their kids permission to test the smoke alarms in your home. Then they can enter the number of alarms they have tested at www.tvokids.com. The number will be added into TVO Kids “Push the Button!” counter, and kids can print off their own “Push the Button” certificate.

The campaign runs until Sunday March 9th.
