Two drunk drivers were arrested in the early morning hours of New Years Day and several others were arrested for a variety of reasons according to Windsor Police.

Between midnight and 5am, police responded to 103 calls and lodged a total of 23 people in detention cells.

Two people were arrested for driving drunk after both crashed their cars in separate incidents.

Firefighters and EMS also responded for several other crashes thought to be due to slippery and snowy road conditions.

In Tecumseh, County Road 46 was closed for several hours over night after a car careened into a pole by the Husky’s restaurant. Tecumseh Firefighters had to extricate the person from their vehicle.
