Handout photo of a bird with similarities to the missing bird

Windsor Police are looking for information after an expensive parrot was stolen from a pet store.

Police were called Wednesday to a pet store in the 3100 block of Walker Road where employees told them that a young Orange Wing Amazon Parrot was swiped from a cage.

Around 5:30pm, several customers were inside the pet store and employees noticed a customer by the bird cages.

Around a half hour later, when the shop had no customers left, an employee found the cage to the Orange Wing Amazon Parrot open with the bird missing.

Police say the bird has yellow in its crest and the bird is valued at around $2500.

Anyone with information is being asked to call police at 519-255-6700 ext 4830 or Crime Stoppers 519-258-8477 (TIPS).
