OPP have charged a Brampton man with street racing after he was caught going 175km/hr.

The man was nabbed by a Chatham-Kent OPP officer doing radar enforcement on the 401 on Friday.

The officer observed an eastbound BMW vehicle that appeared to be exceeding the posted speed limit of 100 km/hr.

Police say the radar registered a speed of 175km/hr.

23-year-old Faria Zahid has been charged with racing a motor vehicle, following too closely and having an obstructed licence plate.

Zahid’s driver’s licence was suspended and his vehicle will be impounded for a period of seven days.
