Winter Fest To Feature Igloo With Wines

The Winter Fest Wine Show will be held inside a very unique venue when it takes place next Saturday — inside a giant igloo!

The igloo will be set up at the intersection of Ouellette Avenue and Pitt Street, with nine local wineries set up inside including Oxley Estate Winery, Coopers Hawk Vineyards, Muscedere Vineyards, Viewpointe Estate Winery, D’Angelo Estate Winery, Colio Estate Wines, Pelee Island Winery, North 42 Degrees Estate Winery, and Sprucewood Shores Estate Winery.

“Bringing our wineries downtown for Winter Fest is an excellent opportunity to remind residents of the jewel in their own backyard of Essex County and Pelee Island. The support of local residents for our growing wine region is vital for it to flourish and continue developing,” urges Tom O’Brien president of EPIC Winegrower’s Association.

The Wine Show is a collaboration of the Downtown Windsor Business Improvement Association, Essex Pelee Island Coast Wine Country, and Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island. The Show runs from 1pm to 7pm and entrance is free. Wine samples and glasses available for purchase.

“The Winter Fest Wine Show is an experience for all those who love extraordinary wines and allows visitors to savour the best of our region’s wineries amidst the backdrop of winter fun in the Downtown Core,” says Gordon Orr, CEO Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island.

The Wine Igloo runs until 7pm.
