A lucky 10-year-old will get to ride with Santa this weekend.
Margaret Yao is the lucky winner of the Downtown Windsor Business Improvement Association Ride with Santa contest that was launched in mid-October. Margaret will sit alongside Santa in a 1924 Model T-Ford convertible.
The Business Improvement Association says that hundreds of responses were collected from ballot boxes stationed at various locations throughout the city including at area libraries, community centres and downtown businesses.
“This is will be a Christmas to remember for Margaret,” Larry Horwitz, DWBIA Chair, said in the news release. “She is so excited to be a part of the Parade and meet the jolly old fella in person,” he added.
The Winter Fest Holiday Parade will commence at 3pm on Saturday at the intersection of Ouellette Avenue and Giles Boulevard. Led by Grand Marshal MR. HOCKEY®, Gordie Howe®, the Parade is comprised of 50+ units includes marching bands, fanciful floats, colourful costumes, inflatables, super heroes, street performers and many more.
