Windsor Police have arrested two suspects after a break-in in West Windsor.

Just after midnight, Sunday, police were called to the 1600 block of Partington Avenue and learned that around 11pm, the homeowner was returning home when he heard rummaging coming from the basement.

The homeowner told police he heard a male voice state “someone’s home”. He was able to arm himself with a baseball bat. Two male suspects ran up from the basement and rushed towards the homeowner. The homeowner swung the baseball bat and struck one suspect in the head. The second suspect continued to run towards the homeowner and the homeowner ran into the garage to get away.

Police say both suspects then fled the scene.

The homeowner returned to the residence and discovered that the bedrooms were ransacked and several items of jewelry were missing. The rear patio door’s screen was cut and the lock was pried open.

Through investigation, Police have charged 29-year-old Phill Maltese with break and enter, possession of property obtained by crime and resisting arrest. A 17-year-old was also charged with possession of property obtained by crime, and obstructing a police officer.
