This Saturday, the Friends of Canard River will be hosting their 14th Annual Fundraising Dinner featuring a buffet of fish, pasta, and chicken kabobs. The evening’s festivities will include a presentation by Heather Taylor, Special Projects Program Assistant for the Essex-Windsor Solid Waste Authority.

Dinner guests will also have the chance to win raffle prizes, 50/50 draw, and a myriad of door prizes. All proceeds from the event will be used to fund future watershed stewardship activities of the Friends of Canard River. Tickets are $20 each and can be purchased by contacting Caroline Biribauer, Outreach Coordinator for the Essex Region Conservation Authority, at 519-776-5209, ext. 245, or [email protected]

The mission of the Friends of Canard River is to promote awareness of the Canard River watershed as both a recreational and environmentally rich area through restoration, education and community involvement. The Friends of Canard River regularly host cleanups along different sections of the Canard River, and tree plantings to help increase forest habitat within the watershed. The Friends of Canard River meet the third Thursday of each month at 6:30pm at St. Thomas of Villanova High School in LaSalle, in the library and new members are always welcome.

The dinner takes place at the Knights of Columbus Hall located at 8965 Malden Road in LaSalle. The evening will begin at 6:30pm with a cash bar, followed by dinner at 7pm.
