One suspect is in custody and a warrant has been issued for a second after a stabbing Wednesday afternoon.

Police say that just after 3:30, they were called to a residence in the 1500 block of Windermere for a fight call. Information at the time was received that one male had blood on his shirt.

Police attended the scene and learned that three males were fighting but had all left the area on foot. Police in the area located a 23-year-old man sitting in a driveway across the street. Police approached this man and they say that it was obvious that he was in distress and had been stabbed. He was bleeding profusely from several stab wounds to his back and shoulder. Police called for EMS and then rendered first aid to the victim by applying pressure with gauze pads to his injuries. Police accompanied the victim to hospital where he was admitted.

The victim was stabbed seven times, with numerous stab wounds in his back and one to his shoulder. He also had a laceration above his left eye. He suffered a punctured lung during the altercation. Although his injuries are serious, they are considered to be non life threatening at this time.

Police say that their investigation has revealed that the victim attended a residence in the 1500 block of Windermere to visit with a friend of his. The friend was not home and the victim became involved in an argument with the friend’s roommate and another male. The victim alleges that the argument escalated to a physical altercation inside the residence. The victim indicates that he was held by one of the males while being stabbed repeatedly by the other male.
