It’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Caesars Windsor, and several buildings in Detroit including the GM Renaissance Centre are showing their colours.
Each year, Caesars Windsor illuminates its outdoor water display with pink floodlights and floods both the Forum and Augustus towers with pink light.
Across the river, the GM Ren Cen’s five LED light rings are a bright shade of pink and are expected to remain so for the duration of October. In Downtown Detroit, the Blue Cross / Blue Shield of Michigan buildings have their rooftop penthouses illuminated with pink bulbs and a third building features a pink ribbon that faces Windsor.
The continuous pink displays serve as a reminder to citizens on both sides of the border of the importance of mammography screening for early diagnosis of breast cancer in addition to the need for funding for ongoing research for finding ways to prevent and cure breast cancer.
