Windsor police are investigating the robbery of a cab driver.

Police say that around 12:55 Thursday morning, they were called to the area of Park Street West and Caron Avenue for a robbery that had occurred involving a cab driver.

The victim told police that he was dispatched to pick up a fare in the 700 block of Victoria Avenue. He picked up a male in the 700 block of Victoria Avenue who asked to be driven to Park Street West and Caron Avenue.

The driver asked the male for payment and the suspect told him it was a robbery. He produced two kitchen knives from a back pack and told the driver to turn over his money.

The suspect fled on foot with a small amount of cash. Police checking the area recovered the backpack and two knives in the 400 block of Caron Avenue.

the suspect is described as a white male, 25 years of age, 5’8′-6′ tall. Thin to medium build, with short brown hair, wearing jeans, dirty sneakers, and a green construction safety jacket/vest with an “X” on the back in silver reflective material.
