Windsor Police have returned a stolen purse to its owner after a surveillance video was released this morning showing it being stolen from a chicken restaurant.

Police were looking to the public to identify two suspects after an employee of Yayas Flame Broiled Chicken had her purse stolen on Saturday September 7th.

Crime Stoppers received 3 tips from callers on the video and around noon today the male and female in the video returned the purse and contents to Windsor Police Headquarters.

Police had said earlier that the victim, an employee at the restaurant, indicated that she had gone on a break and brought her purse to a table in the dining area. She left the purse briefly and assisted some customers in the restaurant and when she returned to the table her purse was missing.

Surveillance video inside the restaurant showsed a male and female enter the restaurant and order food. The female is then seen taking the purse and proceeding to the washroom The male and female then left the restaurant together with the female now carrying the purse.

Police say the black Coach purse contained an iPhone 5 and case and was valued at around $1000.

Sergeant Matthew D’Asti says the victim is satisfied with getting her property returned and the matter will not be proceeding any further.

In the first video, the couple are observed entering the restaurant at 15:19:45 till 15:20:03 (on the time stamp) They are observed leaving at 15:31:15 till 15:32:06(on the time stamp) (She is now carrying the stolen purse as she leaves the restaurant).

In the second video, the couple are at the counter ordering food at 15:19:58 till 15:24:06 (on the time stamp).
