Sable is a very handsome 3 year old Shep Mix now available for Adoption.
From Sable’s Foster Mom
Sable is an amazing dog. I think that he should be re-named Houdini though, due to his exceptional ability to escape from pretty much anything! He is very smart – he can open the latches on his crate. I re-enforced them with other fasteners, so we are winning the war – for now :). He would also need a very well fenced yard- if there is a hole he would find it!

I crate him while I am at work, but I think that he would be fine being left out in the house. He has free roam of the house all night – he mostly sleeps on his bed beside mine, but gets up and walks around now and he has never bothered anything.

He is very good with children and other dogs that we have met so far. Not sure about cats – we haven’t met one yet. He seems to love everything though. I think if anything, he would love cats, but they might not love him back as much :)

He is incredibly gentle – he will take a dog cookie from my mouth. He loves to play fetch and will play forever, but is just as happy curling up and sleeping while watching tv. He loves to snuggle – he actually seems to try to hug me sometimes.

He is completely housetrained. He knows how to ‘sit’ and will do so on command -‘stay’, not so much…lol. He walks on a leash fairly well but would definitely benefit from more practice.

When Sable first came to me he was very scared – especially of men. He has come such a long way in a short few weeks. Just today we were out for a walk and a neighbour came over to him to say hi, and he was laying on his back for a belly rub in seconds.

Sable is one of the most gentle loving dogs I have ever met. Anyone would be lucky to have him as their ‘fur-ever’ dog.
