A new neighborhood group has been formed for an area just east of Downtown Windsor.

The Glengarry Marentette Neighbourhood Renewal Initiative is funded by the United Way Centraide of Windsor-Essex County and administered by Drouillard Place and the Glengarry Non-Profit Housing Corporation.

With the support of community partners, Ward Councillors, the Wyandotte Town Centre BIA and others, over the next year the plan to complete an assessment of the residential corridor east of Glengarry, develop a strategic community agenda to address neighbourhood problems and build on neighbourhood strengths, work closely with community partners and engage citizens to begin the process of revitalization and widen community support for the revitalization of this residential corridor.

The United Way has approved funding to provide honorariums for four neighbourhood residents to support the initiative for up to 12 hours per week.

On September 26th the program will formally be introduced to the community at a neighbourhood meeting that will take place at the British Methodist Episcopalian Church, located at 685 University Avenue East at Louis Avenue and University.
