A 51-year-old Mississauga man faces several charges after an accident Sunday night.

OPP say that it happened just after 8pm on Highway 401 just west of Kent Bridge Road.

Their investigation determined that a 2005 Ford Focus was travelling eastbound on the 401, when it left the roadway and ended up in a ditch. Police say that the driver was under the influence of alcohol and he was arrested.

Alcohol test at the Chatham-Kent OPP Detachment indicated the driver was over the legal limit.

Alan Baschuk has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and driving a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content exceeding 80 milligrams.
